Dear Physics,

We’ve had a good half long run, and even though you continually begged me to solve your problems (making me seek help and cry on several occassions) I always did try my best to work things out.

So I say this from the heart: I can’t do this anymore. I know you’ll find plenty of other people who will try to solve your countless problems, but I must move on.

Depressing Dystopian

My goodness. It's been a while, hasn't it? Akhir-akhir ini saya sibuk banget*sok sibuk* tentang urusan sekolah soal menghadapi UAN padahal novel banyak yang belum selesai dibaca.
Belum lama ini saya baru tahu tentang novel Dystopian gara-gara baca lists buku di goodreads.com dan langsung jadi salah satu genre favorit saya.

Habis googling lama banget baru ketemu artinya fiksi Dystopian ini:

Dystopian fiction is pessimistic, presenting a dark and dangerous view of the future and warning us to avoid the darkness to which we are prone.

So, why I heart Dystopian Novels?

Romance = feel

Fantasy = imagine

Mystery = analyze

Drama = sympathize

Dystopian = think

Karena Dystopian emosional banget. Beda sama romance yang mendayu-dayu, fantasy yang bikin kita terus mengkhayal, atau mystery yang kadang-kadang bacanya sampai nggak ngedong ceritanya*LOL*, tapi membuat kita berpikir tentang kehidupan di dalam novel yang beda banget sama kehidupan kita, ini membuat kita sadar dimana dan bagaimana kita hidup. Cerita-cerita di novel Dystopian juga bikin kita berpikir gimana jadinya kalau kita pilih mengikuti peraturan yang seharusnya atau sebaliknya. Nggak cuma berpikir juga, menurutku ini kayak gabungan dari feel, imagine, analyze, and sympathize dan bisa memunculkan emo-side kita gara-gara kadang lumayan depressing :P kayak novel Hunger Games, The Adoration of Jenna Fox, Thirteen Reasons Why, The Knife of Never Letting Go, The Uglies, etc.

So, which one is your favourite genre?

Bener-bener telat! Baru dua minggu yang lalu liat Linger masih ada di rak depan PERIPLUS Malioboro, sekarang udah nggak ada. Entah ditarik lagi atau habis stoknya. Sampai penjaga nya bantuin cari bongkar-bongkar gudang, tetep aja nggak ketemu. Padahal udah jauh-jauh dari sekolah, hujan petir--jadi nggak bisa naik motor, akhirnya telepon taksi-- :((
Akhirnya saya baca ebook nya aja, walaupun rasanya kurang greget tapi nggak apa-apa lah.

Kesimpulannya, buku ini kebalikan dari Shiver yang kalau di Shiver Sam nya yang jadi serigala, kalau di Linger, Grace yang berubah sekarang. Di Linger juga nggak begitu kerasa kesan beautiful kayak di Shiver. Lebih banyak konflik dengan adanya karakter baru dan Sam yang *******, tapi tetep bikin saya penasaran dengan akhir cerita Sam & Grace di buku selanjutnya yang worth to buy at Amazon.com or bookdepository , Forever, yang katanya terbit 12 Juli 2011.

Volcano Exploded, Day Off School

Yes! Day off school!! From midnight till morning, ashes were falling 20km away from Merapi. And now, Jogja is covered with ashes. That made the mayor dismissed all schools. I need to wear a mask to filter volcanic ashes. Here are some pictures from my school.

Buat para pengikut setia novel-novel Bestseller pasti tahu kalau novel baru biasanya terbit versi Hardcover dulu baru setelah itu versi Paperback nya. Ngeselinnya, Hardcover harganya lebih mahal dan format covernya itu berbentuk jacket. Padahal jacketnya itu sering lepas-lepas, dan kalau jacketnya kita lepas dari bukunya, alhasil cover dalem Hardcovernya yang polos itu yang kelihatan. Gara-gara cover polos itu juga, pas kita lagi baca novel, orang lain malah mengira kita lagi baca alkitab gara-gara saking tebelnya dan cover yang nggak biasa buat pembaca buku terjemahan. Tapi disamping itu, Hardcover lebih tahan lama daripada Paperback. Kertasnya juga lebih putih dan bagus daripada Paperback.

Paperback harganya lebih murah dibanding dengan Hardcover. Kualitas kertasnya juga di bawah Hardcover--red: murahan--. Paperback lebih praktis dan ringan buat dibawa-bawa, nggak ribet dengan masalah jacket karena gambar covernya udah langsung di print di cover depan. Tapi, kalau nggak disampul, Paperback langsung ketekuk sudut-sudut covernya, dan kertasnya cepat jadi kuning.

Artemis have an alter ego! That's what made me interested of this seventh installment of Artemis Fowl series. Today, I've just come home from school when a postman came with a package with my name on it. I didn't even think it was a book that I ordered few months ago. I already read the ebook because I thought the package won't ever come. Now, Artemis Fowl: Atlantis Complex UK edition hardcover is in my hand :)

What The Atlantis Complex lacks in a big way though is Artemis Fowl himself. Unlike his old self, Artemis is so awkward and can't trust anyone. He looks so stupid with his 4 obsession and Orion who is so out of Artemis character--I don't like Orion, not even a little bit--.

Another weakness that I found for book 7 is that the plot is not as complex as usual; I’ve always enjoyed the unpredictable double-cross/triple-cross elements & the mind-twisting tricks that Eoin Colfer adds to the series, but maybe he’s run out of steam this time around.

Well then, let's wait for the eighth book!

I just got the only one left of this book copy from PERIPLUS. I will start off by saying that I was a huge fan of The Mortal Instruments Series. I love the world that Cassandra Clare creates and how immersed that I felt in that world while I was reading these series. I felt the same way, when I started Clockwork Angel. It's kinda dark and mysterious about Will past, Jem, or Tessa ability. Will is kinda look like Jace and Jem is the opposite. The thing that I loved most about Cassie Clare books is the quote in each chapter. And I can't help to not connecting The Infernal Devices character with The Mortal Instruments. I can't wait to reenter the world of Shadowhunters again.

Shiver (Wolves of Mercy Falls) Indonesia

Aku bukanlah bagian dari dunianya... tapi ketika Grace menyebut namaku, menungguku mengikutinya, aku tahu aku akan melakukan apa pun untuk tetap bersamanya.

Then I decided to bought it because this Maggie Stiefvater book is on Amazon.com Teen bestseller list. I think Shiver is Twilight's Team Jacob, I'll read it ASAP after this bloody midterm. :))
